Relatively small in size – but with a charming downstairs area that opens up onto a little terrace – the bookshop opened in the spring of 2013. From poetry to history to food, it offers a plethora of genres and (forgive the cliché) has something for everyone.
As its name suggests, Book & Kitchen moves beyond the bookshop mould as it has a small café. Described as “combining the literary and culinary in a fresh and modern setting”, it is the ideal spot for those who like a drop of Milton and one Shaw with their tea.
The space also acts as an art gallery and events space which, according to its website, hosts literary evenings, supper clubs, music nights and more.
